Good Night Bedtime Stories
A Mother’s Love
Hello Gigglelot Warriors. My name is Diane. I would like to take the time to dedicate this particular story to my mom Irene Ramirez since this was her story she loved to tell us kids growing up. I would also like to dedicate my stories, my BlogVlog Adventures, my website and my webpage to my sister Belen Murray and my nephew James (Tres) Murray the 3rd. This is my first attempt of story telling you my very own Creepy Pasta. I hope you enjoy reading this, so please sit back, relax and get comfortable. And let your imagination take control of you.
What I’m about to tell you is based on a true story. (Well that’s what I was told anyways.) Growing up, I use to hear my mom tell this tale. My mom loved telling stories. Scary stories to scare us before bedtime or to keep us under control whenever me and my siblings misbehaved. But this particular story was one of my favorites because it was sad and heartbreaking. This story was passed down through generation after generations. They were also friends of the family. Now do I believe that it happened? Yes I do. And the reason I believe it happened because it happened to my moms cousin years ago when my mom and her cousin were young women. Now that’s another story for another time. But it’s all the same concept it happened. Except in this particular case it’s a different situation, different people, and different time and place. This story however took place many, many years ago in a very small town in Mexico.True Story
As the story goes, there lived a small family in the poor side of town in Mexico. The young couple had two little girls. The eldest daughter Maria was six years old and the youngest Anna was four. Maria had long brown curly hair with dark brown eyes. Anna’s was also dark brown curly hair with light brown eyes. The family were very poor, but they were a very happy loving family. They all loved and cherished each other. They lived in a small house. It was a little farm with a cow and a few chickens. They didn’t have very much so the couple struggled a little that the father sometimes had to work in other nearby farms just to get by. It was very hard. However; this particular family wasn’t the only ones that suffered from poverty. It was common in Mexico’s small towns. Unfortunately many years later nothing of the economy has changed amongst the Mexican people in Mexico. People to this day still suffer in poverty.
Not really sure how old this young couple was when all this took place. The young fathers name was Pedro. He had dark brown eyes, short curly brown hair. His skin was dark from working out in the fields all day long in the hot sun. As exhausted as he always was when he came home. He always found time to enjoy family time. Pedro loved his beautiful wife Celia and their beautiful young daughters. Celia was very beautiful, light skinned with long brown wavy hair and light brown eyes. Celia was very kind and a loving wife and mother. They played games, they worked together and did everything together as a family. Of course as life goes. Sometimes somethings change. And change it did.
One day the young mother suddenly fell ill. She got so sick that later she became confined to the bed. As the months progressed she got worse and worse that her health quickly declined. As it turned out she was dying. The young husband was devastated. He loved his wife, he couldn’t bare to live without her. And the children. How was he going to tell his young daughters that very soon their mother would die. On her death bed Celia made her husband Pedro promise her that he would take care of the little girls and that he wouldn’t abandon them. He promised his wife as she slipped away peacefully.
A few months later after the young wife and mother died and was buried. The young father and his little girls were devastated and heartbroken. At first they visited her grave site almost everyday. But it was becoming to much for the young man to handle. The grief he felt was quite real, quite painful and so unbearable. The sad faces of his little girls made it worse especially as they looked so much like his beloved. Pedro felt that he couldn’t go on. So he buried himself in his work. He had to work more than ever now so he could be able to support his family. However; he also took to drinking. When his wife was alive he drank but not as much as he did now. He wanted to numb the pain. He drank so much sometimes that he would pass out. Sometimes he wouldn’t come home for days or the next day while leaving his frightened children at home by themselves. Sometimes Pedro even came home drunk that he spoke harshly to his young daughters. It was something that he’d never done before in his life when his wife was alive. He felt guilty. He was breaking his promise to his dead wife Celia. But he couldn’t help it.
His job also took him away from home and with the passing of his wife. There was no one to take care of his children. He was gone all day. Morning, noon and night. By the time he got home and at the end of the day he was exhausted and tired. He was completely unaware of the situation at home. He couldn’t do it. He had to work to bring money into the house hold to pay for food for his family. It was a struggle but at the same time he felt relief because when he kept himself busy. By the time he got home he was too exhausted to remember his wife. But he also knew that what he was doing to his children wasn’t right either. He knew that he was neglecting his little girls.
The little girls Maria and Anna were so neglected that they were dirty almost filthy all the time. They didn’t eat all day until their father came home in the evening. Then they would all eat together as a family. Their father tried his best. He even tried getting one of the neighbors to watch his little girls. But sometimes they couldn’t do it either because they had family’s of their own to take care of. So the little girls were left alone all day until their father came home from work. Their father Pedro would tell his daughters especially the eldest to not open the door to strangers. Only to people they knew. Then he was off to work leaving the girls home alone again. The girls were frightened being all alone. Especially at night when their father got drunk and sometimes didn’t come home. The girls were hungry, dirty and always cried for their mother to come back from heaven to take care of them. Sometimes they feared their dad would never come home and maybe have gone to heaven to be with their mom.
The house was even dirty. Every now and then did a neighbor come by to cook and clean the house a bit and tried watching the girls. But sometimes it was just impossible. The farm houses or ranch homes that was their neighbors were far from each other. Even going to town or a nearby village was far away. So the house in which the girls lived in with their father was isolated. The area was surrounded by forests, lots of trees and wild animals.
However the father did try to get the girls to stay with the neighbor until he got home. But to some families it was too much for them and sometimes the little girls father couldn’t afford to pay for someone to watch them. So eventually the little girls were back at being left alone all day for weeks.
Then one day he came home and found the whole house clean from top to bottom. In the kitchen he found food prepared for him and the children. He also found his two little girls clean, bathed, combed, dressed and fed. And sitting on the sofa quietly waiting for him. He didn’t think anything of it at first and thought one of his neighbors had come over to check up on his girls and had done the good deed.
As the days and weeks went by he kept finding the house cleaner, dinner prepared and his little girls dressed and cleaned. Their hair combed. The father wandered which neighbor was taking the time from their busy farm life to care for his home and children. He was indeed very great full and would later during the weekend go out and about and find out who it was so that he could thank them in person. He asked all around his neighbors that lived near him. No one didn’t seem to know who was coming over. Everyone in his neighborhood had not been to his house recently. Especially the women folk that lived near by. It couldn’t have been any other neighbor that lived far away. It would be impossible to travel in a horse and buggy that would take them all day to get to his home and do the house cleaning that also takes all day to do just to get home late themselves and if that were the case he and they would certainly pass each other down the road. As he continued to ask around a few other of his neighbors tried guessing who else it could be that was doing a nice thing for him and his family. And just told Pedro not to worry. Pretty soon someone is bound to come forward. An older woman and a neighbor of his who often looked after his children had asked him if his daughters knew who it was that was coming over. He answered no. That it never occurred to him to ask because he thought it was a neighbor but now he wasn’t sure. To no avail the young father gave up and went home and decided to ask his daughters who it was that was coming over to the house every day.
As soon as he got home he immediately asked his little girls who was coming to the house to cook, clean and bathe them and comb and dress them. The little girls answered “Mama.” He was taken aback at the answer his daughters gave. He asked the eldest Maria that question again. To which she replied “Mama.” Anna just nodded her head in agreement. The young father almost broke down in tears. “No mija’s. No my daughters that is not so. Your Mama she is gone away to heaven. She is no longer with us. Please tell your papa the truth. Who has been coming to the house to take care of you and your sister?” Papa demanded to know.
“But it’s true papa. Mama has been coming here to take care of us. You lied to us. You told us Mama has gone to heaven but she comes to us as soon as you leave for work papa,” Maria said, as she looked at her sister Anna. “Isn’t it true Anna that Mama comes to us everyday in the mornings and stays all day til Papa comes home.”
“Yes papa it’s true what Maria says. Mama comes home to take care of us,” Anna said softly. After that the young man was still not convinced. Yes he felt very bad for what he did to his daughters and especially his dead wife. Because he had made a promise to her on her deathbed that he would take care of their children after she was gone. And he felt horrible for not keeping his promise and honoring her wishes.
The more he thought about her the more he was convinced it might be someone else in his neighborhood and not his beloved. He just couldn’t believe that his wife was coming back from the dead. It just wasn’t possible. Even though Celia his dear wife was dead he still loved her and he missed her so much. But he decided to find out the truth for himself.
The next morning he woke up early as usual and got ready for work. His little girls were already up and very excited because their mother was on the way soon. Pedro made breakfast for himself and the girls. And as usual told his children to behave and that he would be home soon. He also said that he would try his best to send one of the neighbors to the house to look after them. The little girl Maria simply said. “Don’t worry Papa. Mama will be here soon. She will take care of us.” Their father didn’t say anything but kissed his children goodbye. Then he walked out the door closing it behind him as he boarded his horse and buggy and rode away from the house. Except that today he wasn’t going to work he was going to find out what or whom was the person going to the house to take care of his children. Thinking about it brought chills down his spine. He quickly hid his horse and buggy behind a hillside with boulders that was a few feet away from his home. He quickly jumped off the wagon and ran to a boulder that was covered in bushes. It was perfect to hide behind because from there he could see his house very well. He could also see who was coming up the front door.
The young man waited awhile but not for very long. Pedro could see someone coming from around the road that turned to his home. He saw a white figure approach his house. Pedro quickly crouched down so that he wouldn’t be spotted. As he looked he noticed and couldn’t believe his eyes. Tears forming in his eyes. It’s true. It’s true what his daughters were saying. It was his beloved, his dead wife, his Celia. She was wearing the clothes she was buried in. She had come back from the dead but it wasn’t right. She should be resting in peace and not still be here on earth. It was against all that is unholy. She must return to where she came. It was his fault he did not honor his wife’s wishes and now she was coming back to watch and take care of their children. He saw his children greet her outside the front door with excitement as his wife went into the house with them. He was still in disbelief, frightened and in shock when he stumbled out of his hiding place as he quickly went to the house. Could it really be his wife Celia? Or could it be an evil spirit! And now the thing or whatever it was is now inside alone with his daughters. This thought terrified Pedro even more.
The young father Pedro got to the house but was hesitant and afraid to go in, but he knew he had to. He had to ask his wife Celia for forgiveness that is if it truly was her. If so then he had to send her restless spirit back to the grave where she belonged. It wasn’t right, it wasn’t natural. It was an abomination. Pedro slowly opened the door to his house and saw nothing at first. However; he heard noises coming from the kitchen. He immediately saw his children sitting at the breakfast table. Then he saw her. His beloved wife Celia. She was washing the dishes. She turned to face him. It was his dead wife alright. She looked ghostly pale. Her eyes looked painfully devastated and concerned. Then Pedro knew in his heart and soul that it was the spirit of his precious wife Celia and not something evil. “What are you doing here? You are not supposed to be here!” The young husband said. “I am here because my daughters need me. They cry for me every day and every night that I can’t rest. You made a promise to me and you didn’t keep it. So now I must come here to take care of them.” The young man knew what his wife was saying was the truth. “Yes it is true I did make you a promise to take care of our daughters and I am so sorry for that. Please forgive me my love. I love you and I still miss you everyday.” “I love you and I miss you and my girls too, but I can’t rest until I know that my daughters will be taken care of properly,” Celia had told her husband, Pedro who was shedding a few tears down his cheeks.
After that day he made his wife Celia, his daughters and to himself another promise, that he wouldn’t ever, never neglect his children again. And he also promised his wife that he would be a better father to the children. Their children. He told her that she needed to go back and Rest In Peace. And not to worry about her daughters. That from here on out. He would keep his new promise and would take care of their children. His wife Celia agreed and said to him. “As long as you keep your promise to take care of our little girls, you won’t ever see me again here on earth.” Then she left the house and as she walked down the road and turned to wave goodbye to her family for the last time she turned to walk away and disappeared. She was never seen again after that. Pedro kept his promise and his daughters grew up healthy and happy and had families of their own. The girls and their father never forgot the experience of what had happened to them all those years ago. However; they knew it was A Mother’s Love and The Promise She Made that saved them all.
Ok Gigglelot Warriors. That is the end of my Creepy Pasta story. My first ever. I was saving this story for Halloween, but I couldn’t wait to post this right away. I also hope you noticed my love child my Gigglelotbird in the drawings. I actually drew the pictures myself. I used Procreate. I totally love the app. I think it’s totally groovy. And I think it’s worth the price. One time purchase of $9.99. I apologize for not drawing any eyes. I always find it difficult to draw them. I hope you enjoyed the story. It was a very sad story and one of my favorites. Also as I said before it was based on true events. I was told growing up that my great, great grandmother knew these people that it happened to. And something similar happened again when my mom was a young woman. I know I said I would save this story for another time but I’ll tell it real quick. My mother had a cousin named Grace who had gotten married and had a baby but died from childbirth and her baby died as well. They were both buried together. My mom said that her cousins mother Aunt Elizabeth cried for her dead daughter Grace and her dead baby everyday for weeks. Everyone in the family was trying to comfort her and told her that her daughter Grace needed to Rest In Peace. But Graces mother Elizabeth couldn’t stop crying. She missed her daughter terribly. Then one day the whole family were sitting on the porch late afternoon. And as usual Graces mother started crying. Then all of a sudden out of nowhere the daughter Grace appeared. She quickly walked up towards the house and begged her mom to stop crying for her because she couldn’t Rest In Peace. Her mother, her sisters and including my mom saw her. They were all in shock and speechless. They also swear that Grace carried the dead baby in her arms. After that her mother made her dead daughter a promise that she wouldn’t cry for her anymore. Soon after that ghostly visit she left and disappeared. Grace was never seen again. My mom swore to that story that it actually happened. Unfortunately my mom passed away in 2007. I miss her everyday. I love you mom.
