Cozy Crochets 4 Corner Seasons And Special Occasions
Hello Gigglelotbirds, this is Diane. Welcome back to my BlogVlog Adventures website. If you’ve been checking out my website or reading my stories. I’m sure you’ve probably come across my Cozy Crochets blankets, hats and scarves created by me and my family.
In today’s story I am Introducing Cozy Crochets to my BlogVlog Adventures website. I guess I should have done that from the beginning because it is part of my brand, my line of what is to come in the future. I take pride in what I create.
I’ve been doing all kinds of crafts, projects and DIYs since forever. I’ve just never showcased them before until now on my website. In the past I’ve always been shy and embarrassed to display my work. So those feelings go away once you establish your niche. I also feel that having your own business and you’re own website and you can just about post anything you want. Nothing too crazy but my work that I’ve worked very hard on. My Art work. And it is Art. To some it might not be Art.
However; like every other artist out there. It takes a lot of blood, sweat and tears to perfect and hone your talent. It’s also time consuming and the materials are not cheap but very expensive. Especially if you want to create the very best that will last a lifetime.
So here I am Introducing my next line of blankets to Cozy Crochets franchise. My franchise. And here it is my other blankets that I’ve crocheted a few years ago. And I will be adding to the Cozy Crochets Collection. They were very popular among my family and friends. They loved my work. Also according to them it was unique in the way I crocheted them. I don’t think it was but if my style pleased them then I am happy that I found my signature.
This is another blanket I crocheted and gave away as a birthday present for a dear friend of mine I worked with for years. She loved the blankets I made and the colors I used. So I thought “What would be a perfect gift to give her?” and so I made the blanket pictured down below.
Believe me at the time when I crocheted the blankets I did my research on the Internet and found nobody crocheted like I did. I’m not sure about today although I again did the research and still have not found anyone crocheting like I do. It was very hard but again I had to continue to do it til I perfected and honed the crocheted project how I wanted it to look like. It wasn’t easy but in the end it was done and the results were beautiful.
One of the blankets ‘Donna’s Meadow’ I call it my signature blanket. What makes it my signature blanket is the huge flower I sew in the center. It is pictured down below. I have also crocheted two other blankets like this before to family members years ago and they loved it and they still have them today. One blanket was in purple and white colors with a huge white daisy in the center blanket and the other was in orange and white colors with also a huge white daisy in the center. Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures to post but the blankets do exist and are in great condition today. Those blankets are just as beautiful as the one in the photo below.
I learned to crochet at a young age by my mother. She was very talented and a perfectionist. It was hard and very difficult at first because my mom wasn’t a very patient person. I always messed up the yarn or tangled it.
However; I did manage to learn the techniques of crocheting but I felt it was just to hard and I thought I could never be as good as my mom’s. So I gave up and stopped altogether. My mom tried to convince me to continue but I just couldn’t. She also tried her best to teach me a little in Quilting and sewing. And I did pick up a few things on that technique as well, but crocheting became my most favorite.
A few years had past that I decided I wanted to crochet again. So I did the best to remember what my mom had taught me all those years ago. My mother could no longer show me again because she had gotten sick and couldn’t do anything with her hands and fingers anymore. She couldn’t even hold a crochet stick. It was very hard and very heart breaking sad to see that.
So I just figured I would teach myself the rest because what my mom had taught me had come tumbling back to me in my memories. Back in the day we didn’t have YouTube tutorial videos like we do today. So I had to go to the library or a book store and purchase one of those crochet kits. And start my own personal courses and taught myself.
The rest is history. Since than I was able to crochet the most beautiful blankets I never thought I would be able to crochet. I still think I’m not as good as my mom. However; I am happy to say that my mom got to see my work and she loved it and was very proud of me.
My mom since has passed away in 2007. I miss her so much and every day. I always think about her when I’m crocheting something. The blankets or whatever that I crochet are my mom’s Legacy. I also dedicate this page to my mother, because if it wasn’t for her and her teachings. I would never had continued this journey, of the world of crocheting.
She gave me a part of her talent that hopefully I passed on to my sister and my nieces. And hopefully after I’m gone. My mom’s legacy will continue to grow and flourish within our family. The only thing that my mother and I do regret is not knowing how to Knit. However; I am trying to learn that art skill. It is hard and frustrating to me. But I’m sure they’re are a lot of talented knitters out there. And I hope and wish that one day I will become one as well.
